I can see the attraction of that if you’re looking for a stable resident who will pay the bills. But I’m sure there’s probably a law against discriminating somewhere or other…

It makes sense that buy-to-let landlords would be looking to expand right now. All things being equal, there should be plenty of choice in the properties available.

An earlier article said that about 93% of buy-to-let mortgage deals had disappeared. It looks like plenty of people are still taking advantage of the remaining 7%.

That’s a lot of variety gone, but there are still people out there getting buy-to-let mortgages. It’s just a question of being a bit more tenacious.

A few properties are obviously buy-to-let, e.g. those with separate lockable rooms. But how do you tell with the others?!

20% isn’t too bad - there are 40% deposit mortgages out there. It could be (and might be) a lot worse.
